Women’s Society of Cyberjutsu - Small Tribes Experience

2024’s WSC Small Tribes event was truly an exceptional experience, leaving a lasting positive impact on not just me but I know, based on my group’s feedback, they did as well. The vibrant and diverse group of women who came together created a truly unique and enriching environment. There were individuals from all walks of Information Security, ranging from those just beginning their journey in the field to seasoned C-level executives, creating a powerful blend of perspectives and experiences.

One of the most remarkable aspects of the Small Tribes was the genuine camaraderie that blossomed among the groups. Over the course of our time together, lifelong friendships were forged, built on shared experiences, mutual support, and a common passion for cybersecurity. The intimate setting of the small tribes fostered a sense of trust and openness, allowing for deeper connections to form between members of our group.

The learning that took place was invaluable and multifaceted. I benefited immensely from the collective wisdom and diverse skill sets present in the group. Through interactive sessions, collaborative exercises, and insightful discussions, we learned from each other's successes, and challenges, expanding our knowledge base and broadening our understanding of the Information Security landscape. Each meeting we took the time to celebrate successes and talk about our failures.

One of the WSC Small Tribes' focus was to develop and refine our presentation skills. My group found ourselves stepping outside of our comfort zones and pushing our boundaries, in a supportive and encouraging atmosphere. The constructive feedback and peer support provided an ideal environment for growth and improvement in this crucial area.
